Trust & safety

Trust is part of the infrastructure.

JHBX uses structured payment, order and support processes designed to improve transaction transparency and accountability between customers and independent merchants.

Our approach

JHBX is an early-stage marketplace and describes only what is actually in place. We do not claim that every merchant is verified, that transactions are absolutely secure, or that JHBX holds funds as an escrow service.

Merchant onboarding
Merchants apply and are reviewed before they can list products. Onboarding is a structured process rather than an open sign-up.
Product standards
Products must be legitimate physical goods, accurately described and permitted on the marketplace.
Secure payment processing
Payments are handled through established payment processing infrastructure. No online system can be described as absolutely secure.
Order records
Marketplace orders are recorded, giving customers and merchants a shared reference for what was bought and when.
Customer support
Support channels are available for order, delivery and account questions.
Returns and refunds
Returns and refunds follow the applicable marketplace rules and your consumer rights. Eligibility depends on the circumstances of the order.
Disputes
Where a customer and merchant disagree, a structured dispute process is used to review the order record and reach an outcome.
Delivery confirmation
Deliveries are confirmed so that both customer and merchant have a record of completion.
Data and privacy
Personal information is handled in line with applicable South African data protection requirements. The final privacy policy will govern this in detail.
Prohibited products
Counterfeit, illegal, unsafe and restricted goods are not permitted on the marketplace.

Final policy documents

The final JHBX Terms, Privacy Policy, Returns & Refund Policy and Merchant Terms are subject to legal and compliance approval before commercial launch. Those approved documents will govern eligibility, obligations and process. The information on this page is a plain-language summary of intent, not a legal policy.
